Early Learning Years are About Foundational Skills
Learning is like building a house. Each level is built on top of the one before, and every story ultimately rests on top of the foundation. If the foundation isn’t solid, that whole house will lean or slide or even fall.
Phonics is the foundation of reading, and it has been for thousands of years, since Canaanites living in Egypt invented the phonetic alphabet (last week’s Bible lesson).
Because phonics in English is a far more complicated than in other languages, most kids need a LOT OF PHONICS PRACTICE! I made Jubilant Reader to help my own daughter get that practice in a fun and effective way.
Weekly Printables
The free printable this week is a fun craft idea to get you excited about the books of Eric Carle, which are great practice for beginning readers.
This week’s Bible lesson talks about how we’re all called by God to turn away from the ways of the world and follow Jesus.
If you’re looking for foundational phonics printables, we have a CVC series that builds strong phonemic awareness and blending skills.
Thanks, from all of us at Jubilant Reader!
