❣️CVC Sentence-Picture Match 📝
It's hard to find good reading 📖 material for early readers. We made that easy 🤗
When I was teaching my daughter how to read, every school day we learned about phonics, practiced our phonics with Jubilant Reader, and practiced reading. BUT, when she was at the simple word level, like sounding out CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words, we had a BIG PROBLEM finding materials for her to read.
There were some books, but they were very short, frequently mixed in words that were too advanced, or had an illustration on the same page as the sentence. Picture clues can be helpful, but I think for early readers, picture clues distract from learning phonics.
So, I’ve created 100 different simple CVC sentences with matching pictures, BUT each page has 4 different sentences to match to pictures. It’s free for a limited time!

Picture Book: Daniel Visits the Library! from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood
This book is WAY too advanced for beginning readers, but if you read it with your kid, they can easily follow along. Just 1 sentence per page. 💗
Kid’s Chapter Book: The BFG by Roald Dahl
This has always been one our favorite Roald Dahl books. It’s about a little girl who partners up with a Big Friendly Giant (BFG) to save the world. Frobscottle! 🫧
For Grownups: Year Zero by Rob Reid
This is a hilarious science fiction book about naive aliens who come to Earth wanting to license all of our music, because all of theirs is terrible! 🎶
