Honesty is the Best Policy 😇
Sometimes Honesty is Learned the Hard Way: 👦+🍪+🍪+🍪…=🤢
🍪 When I was a little boy growing up in Mississippi, our family reunion was held each year on a farm in Tallahatchie County. I can still remember the miles of kudzu-covered roads we took to get there. Until I was about seven, I loved M&M cookies, and I can still remember the day I stopped loving them.
We were at the family reunion. Everyone had brought amazing food, and there was a huge platter of homemade M&M cookies! All day, I kept sneaking into the kitchen and taking just one cookie. My aunts and uncles noticed, and they asked me how many I’d eaten. Each time, I lied. By the time of the car ride home, I was so full of cookies that my stomach couldn’t hold them anymore! 🤢
This week’s printable is the second in a series on values and virtues. Use this week’s printable to discuss honesty with your children. Talk or write about the right thing to do in six different tricky situations and use the three coloring sheets to talk about honesty at the table, in the house, and when playing with friends!

What We’re Reading 🤓
I’m reading the Discworld books from Terry Pratchett. The Discworld series is a comic take on what the world might be like if magic were real and the earth was a flat disc flying through space on the back of a giant turtle. My 13-year-old is reading the Percy Jackson series. My 10-year-old is reading the Smile series, again. I think this is the third time in as many months!
👨👩👧👦 What We’re Up To
It rained all day Sunday, which is a welcome relief from the years of drought we’ve had in Central Texas, but it brought back memories of the recent summer camp floods. Those floods and Uvalde are less than an hour from our house. Please remember the families of all those children in your prayers.
