I grew up in a small Mississippi swamp town complete with alligators. We were allowed to ride our bikes all over with no cell phones or GPS trackers. We probably weren’t as safe as we thought, but it was a different world than kids live in today.
We’re all looking forward to those warmer weather adventures. My youngest daughter and her friends love to play down at the neighborhood creek. I’m not exactly sure what they play, but they pretend that all the squirrels are goblins.
Kids need a firm understanding of safety and boundaries. The story of Peter Rabbit is a classic that’s all about that. Our free printable this week includes the entire book, with illustrations, and several activities to go with it.
